About Me:
Wiana Kell was born in Brazil, lived in Canada and Bahrain before establishing residency in Dubai. She writes not only children’s literature but adult’s chronicles, short stories and haiku poems.
“Sarah & The Pink Dolphin’‘ is her first bilingual book (English and Arabic) published by Nour in 2022. The book was displayed among other titles representing the UAE during the Bologna Children’s Book Fair in 2023 at the Emirates Publishers Association stand.
She is also the author of the title (in Portuguese): “O Jardim da Lua” freely translated as “The Moon’s Garden” which was finalist for the most prestigious Brazil Literature Prize, Jabuti Award in 2022. Published by Tigrito publishing house in Rio de Janeiro.
in 2019 she participated in a book reading session at the Emirates Airline Literature Festival with her first book titled as: “Pepa and Keca in Who saw rhymes around there?” (released in Portuguese only).
Kell is currently taking a post-graduate course called “The Book for Infancy: Processes of Contemporary Creation, Circulation, Mediation” at A Casa Tombada in São Paulo, Brazil. In addition, she is a partner in the Emirate of the Brazilian children’s book subscription club, called A Taba.
